About The Position

The Assistant Fitness Director will play a role in overseeing and supporting the team of Personal Trainers, Front Desk Staff, and Group Fitness Instructors, ensuring efficient communication across teams regarding facility operations and services, intake management of all customer service inquiries, scheduling and coverage needs, and team updates regarding responsibilities and expectations. The Assistant Fitness Director is responsible for maintaining daily facility operations across the Cross Creek Fitness Center locations, overseeing fitness equipment repairs, communication between vendors and clients, and month to month reports regarding utilization and fitness services. This role includes customer service, facility/team management, organizational skills, and the ability to assist in administrative tasks as needed. The Assistant Fitness Director works closely with the Fitness Director on all responsibilities outlined below.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Experience in facility management or similar roles.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of fitness programs and personal training.

  • Experience in a fitness center or gym environment.
  • Certification in personal training or group fitness instruction.
  • Familiarity with social media marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the supervision and management of Front Desk Staff, including staff training and development.
  • Coordinate monthly staff scheduling across all three facilities.
  • Develop and maintain team goals and initiatives for positive employee retention.
  • Ensure all staff are confirmed and present each shift scheduled and responsibilities are adhered to.
  • Update Front Desk staff timesheets bi-weekly to accurately reflect hours worked for payroll submission.
  • Fill in as a staff member in the event of staff absences as needed.
  • Oversee all Personal Trainers and Coaches to provide general support.
  • Work directly with the Fitness Lead to ensure all scheduling of services to residents with staff are provided.
  • Coordinate regular check-in reviews with personal trainers and coaches.
  • Lead as Head Trainer for evening operations in acquiring personal training clients.
  • Ensure all Instructors are confirmed and present each scheduled class and responsibilities are adhered to.
  • Coordinate Instructor coverage on an as-needed basis.
  • Audit group fitness classes to ensure standards and expectations are adhered to.
  • Instruct three group fitness classes per week.
  • Oversee overall general facility appearance and cleanliness.
  • Accurately manage program supplies and inventory for all three facilities.
  • Oversee and perform facility and equipment maintenance.
  • Coordinate development and hosting of fitness programs and events.
  • Manage content creation and community engagement on social media platforms.
  • Uphold facility policies and guidelines.
  • Respond professionally and promptly to resident emails on inquiries.
  • Coordinate with the Fitness Director the development and marketing for all special events and fitness programs.
  • Provide administrative support by answering questions and maintaining correspondence.
  • Submit weekly and monthly facility reports to the Fitness Director.
  • Maintain effective time management and meet deadlines for all additional responsibilities.
