About The Position

Assistant in the JJC Fitness Center, Activity Class Instructor

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to prioritize assignments and to work in a very busy, positive, fun and loud environment.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must be friendly, honest, positive, outgoing individual who enjoys working with students.
• AED/CPR current Certification current or completed upon hiring.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
• Demonstrated commitment to the college's core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation and quality.

Nice To Haves

• College Degree
• Personal Trainer Certification
• Experience with leading/developing group exercise classes for Fitness Center participants
• Certification in various activities, Spinning, Yoga, Aerobics.
• Experience with police POWER testing assessments.
• English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
• Demonstrated multicultural competence.

Responsibilities

• Receive and respond to messages and questions from current and prospective students.
• Maintain cleanliness in the Fitness Center, classrooms, and equipment.
• Wash, dry, and fold Fitness Center workout and shower towels.
• Participate in department and college goals and objectives.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
