About The Position

ASRC Federal Communications is seeking a Part Time Assistant Fire Chief for our ISS2 contract supporting our Air Force customer. This position is located at Eareckson Air Station in Shemya, AK. We are seeking a Part-Time Fire Chief to support operations at Eareckson Air Station. This role requires rotational on-site work for periods of 3–4 months throughout the year, depending on flight availability, departmental turnover, and ongoing projects. The selected individual will assume full Fire Chief responsibilities in his absence, ensuring continuity of leadership and oversight of fire and emergency services operations. Dormitory housing and all meals are provided through DFAC. Transportation to EAS from Anchorage, AK, is provided by government-sponsored aircraft.

Requirements

  • HS diploma or GED required, bachelor’s degree preferred in related field with 4 years' experience in fire operations and management.
  • Trained and certified by either an accredited certification academy recognized by Air Force Civil Engineer Support Agency (AFCESA) or Proboard.
  • Fire Chief will be Fire Officer I, II, III but IV is preferred.
  • Fire Inspector I, II/Fire Instructor I, II.
  • Must Be HazMat Awareness, Operations, and Hazmat IC preferred.
  • NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800.
  • Emergency Medical Technician certification is preferred.
  • Experience with MS Office.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Valid State driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment physical, fingerprints and drug test.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for protection of life and property on Eareckson Air Station and the direction and control of fire and rescue crews in the performance of routine and emergency work assignments.
  • Oversees the development of fire department programs, which maintain high standards of preparedness with the goal to fulfill the requirements of the contract with maximum effectiveness.
  • Assigns fire department personnel, organizes and directs work, communicates performance standards and safety regulations, monitors activities, evaluates performance and recommends need for change.
  • Attends and participates in a variety of meetings to integrate activities, communicate issues, resolve problems and maintains specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements and policies.
  • Maintains open lines of communication with management regarding activities within their area of responsibility.
  • Develops, maintains and enforces departmental policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet contract needs.
