Manheim Township is pleased to announce an exciting senior-level leadership opportunity for an experienced Fire and EMS leader to serve as the Township's first Assistant Fire Chief of EMS. This historic position reflects the continued growth and evolution of the Manheim Township Fire Rescue (MTFR) system, which is expanding its core mission to include Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Position Overview: The Assistant Fire Chief of EMS will be responsible for overseeing daily Fire and EMS operations, and program development. Reporting directly to the Fire Chief, this role plays a critical part in integrating EMS into the Fire Rescue system while maintaining excellence in fire suppression, emergency response, training, and community engagement. This position requires a collaborative, forward-thinking leader with strong operational, administrative, and personnel management skills. MTFR is an all-hazards fire rescue agency serving a community of 44,138 residents across 24 square miles from four fire rescue stations. MTFR operates as an active combination fire rescue system consisting of two full-time career Chief Fire Officers, one career Fire Marshal, five career Fire Captains, six career Fire Lieutenants, and thirty-two career Firefighter/EMTs. The department is further supported by twenty part-time career Firefighter/EMTs, one full-time Fleet Mechanic, one full-time Administrative Assistant, one part-time Logistics Specialist, and twenty volunteers who serve in roles including Firefighters, Administrative Support, and Auxiliary Support.
