About The Position

As the Assistant Financial Controller at DESOTEC, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the business towards its strategic objectives by overseeing various financial functions. This position requires a seasoned professional with at least 10 years of experience in financial management, particularly within an industrial international company. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with financial procedures and statutory requirements, managing budgets and reporting, handling taxes, and maintaining treasury and banking relationships. Reporting directly to the US Financial Controller, you will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders, including the Group Finance Director, Group Controller, and audit teams, as well as corporate stakeholders in Belgium. Your responsibilities will include conducting monthly and yearly closings for the US business in compliance with legal requirements, supporting the consolidation of different entities, and ensuring accurate financial reporting to stakeholders. You will also oversee audits, tax submissions, and subsidy requests, while ensuring compliance with all legal, tax, and statutory requirements. Additionally, you will support a team of approximately four finance colleagues, driving continuous improvement and optimization of financial processes, and assisting in the finance transformation efforts at US headquarters. In this role, you will also be involved in ERP implementation, defining financial processes including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and controlling for both local and group levels. Your proactive and hands-on approach will be essential in transitioning the finance team from transactional operations to a strategic business-partner model, ultimately contributing to the company's mission of sustainability and environmental responsibility.
