About The Position
The Assistant Finance Officer position at Caswell County Schools is designed to provide a wide range of technical and administrative support to the Chief Finance Officer. This role is crucial in ensuring that the financial operations of the school system are conducted in compliance with legal and administrative requirements. The Assistant Finance Officer will also assist the Human Resources department with licensure processes, ensuring that all activities are handled with confidentiality and accuracy. The position is full-time and is expected to start immediately, with a commitment to maintaining the integrity of financial records and processes within the school system. In this role, the Assistant Finance Officer will be responsible for analyzing and correcting budgets, revenues, and expenditures as necessary. This includes reconciling bank accounts, researching discrepancies, and preparing journal entries as needed. The officer will compile and analyze various financial reports required by Caswell County Schools and the State of North Carolina, maintaining both manual and electronic documents, files, and records. Additionally, the Assistant Finance Officer will assist the Payroll and Accounts Payable departments when needed and act as a backup for the Payroll Specialist and Chief Financial Officer. The position also involves compiling data from various sources to comply with financial, legal, and administrative requirements, processing documents to ensure the accuracy of employee records, and providing confidential office services. The Assistant Finance Officer will be expected to perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Finance Officer, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn new skills as part of their continuous professional development.
