About The Position

The Assistant Finance Director at the Pasco County Sheriff's Office is a key civilian role responsible for supporting the Finance Director in managing financial operations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Seven (7) years of recent accounting experience, with at least two (2) years in public sector accounting.
  • Five (5) years of supervisory experience in accounting functions.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License.
  • Unescorted CJIS clearance as authorized by FDLE.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Finance Director in carrying out the mission statement for the Sheriff's Office as it applies to financial operations.
  • Review general ledger transactions to ensure compliance with guidelines.
  • Ensure revenues and expenditures are recorded within the appropriate funding source.
  • Comprehend and understand public sector accounting, grants, and contracts.
  • Make recommendations and implement efficient business operations and process improvements.
