The Dallas Morning News is seeking an Assistant Features Editor to provide editing support and leadership across the departments of Arts & Life and Food. This editor will prepare stories for publication on multiple platforms, demonstrating an understanding of our print and digital audiences in support of both teams and their editors. This journalist will collaborate with the features team to help plan and package useful features, spotlights, roundups and listings that engage and serve our North Texas audience and help optimize all content. And work to support a developing online home for horoscopes, advice columns, puzzles and comics. A strong candidate will have robust editing skills along with an understanding of and ambition for accountability journalism. This editor must be well-organized and have strong news judgment. They must be a bridge-builder in creating relationships. This editor will directly manage reporters. A strong communicator, collaborator and multitasker, the Assistant Features Editor understands that planning is foundational to high-quality journalism and products, both for print and digital.
