About The Position

Provides guidance and counseling to clients, family, and staff on how to best navigate the social and legal issues faced by clients and their families.

Requirements

Juris Doctorate, required.
Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio, required.
Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.
Ability to collaborate across a multidisciplinary system.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
Ability to manage confidential information in a complex hospital environment.
Five years of experience as an attorney, required.

Nice To Haves

Three years of experience in the area of domestic violence and family law, preferred.

Responsibilities

Interviews and provides guidance to clients and their families, and assists clients and staff with relevant referrals and agency applications.
Consults with staff regarding environmental, social and legal issues and assists with problem solving on those issues.
Provides direct legal representation of clients as requested.
Acts as liaison between the clients and referral agencies.
Develops relationships with relevant community resources in order to support clients and assist in navigating community systems.
Maintains appropriate records and participates in data collection relevant to and duties, including conflict of interest rules for Ohio attorneys.
Provides input into policies, procedures, and processes.
Participates in committees and meetings, attends required training, and maintains current knowledge of relevant procedures.
