About The Position

IsI Enterprises is searching for an experienced, reliable, and task-oriented Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO). This position requires the ability to apply independent judgment and discretion, as well as the identification, analysis and resolution of security-related matters. This individual will report to the Director of Security Operations in a challenging, fast-paced, collaborative, and rewarding environment. They will maintain the security programs for approximately thirty-five (35) small businesses with approximately eight hundred (800) Personnel Security Clearances (PCL) associated primarily with collateral and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) programs. The successful candidate will achieve a balance between the overall objective and specific details, take pride in their work, and strive for excellence.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship Required
  • Must possess, and be able to maintain a Top Secret (TS) Clearance
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED)
  • 2+ years as an AFSO or FSO, or 6 months minimum internal experience at IsI Enterprises as a Security Specialist
  • Extensive knowledge and experience utilizing DISS/ NISS
  • Ability to quickly understand policies and procedures presented during on-the-job training
  • Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, friendly and professional demeanor
  • Effective time management
  • Positive mentoring and reinforcement
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Must complete the following Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE) Security Training, Education and Professionalization Portal (STEPP) courses prior to start, unless otherwise identified: FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities curriculum (within 6 months of employment) Establishing an Insider Threat Program training Insider Threat Awareness training Personally Identifiable Information (PII) training Cyber Awareness training NISS External User training

Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain all security related databases for our clients including DISS, National Industrial Security System (NISS), NBIS and ACCS
  • Review and submit SCI nomination packages to varies agencies via password protected emails/government portals
  • Update and maintain data and documents in DISS and NBIS, NISS
  • Investigate incidents and security violations, conduct administrative inquiries (AI), and submit reports as required
  • Manage clients’ safeguarding requirements to include providing document control numbers and maintaining access rosters to security containers
  • Prepare and execute DD Form 254s for our clients
  • Act as liaison with DCSA, as required
  • Travel to Client sites for DCSA Assessments, potentially
  • Provide expert security advice and assistance to our clients
  • Ensure our clients are compliant with Facility Clearance (FCL) Government regulations
  • Understand our clients’ corporate structure and bylaws as they pertain to the National Industrial Security Program (NISP)
  • Ensure the accuracy and maintenance of records in our Security Control software
