About The Position

Works under minimal supervision to organize, monitor, and supervise facility maintenance operations. Performs a variety of strategic tasks relative to the day-to-day operations of the department, to support the operational efficiency of the airport. Serves as lead in absence of Facilities Manager.

  • 1+ years of supervisory experience
  • Associate degree in maintenance related field, or 4 years of relevant experience
  • Must possess and maintain a valid S.C. driver license
  • Successful completion of TSA/Security Background check (external candidates)

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in technical, grounds, or airfield maintenance work
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • Associate degree in maintenance related field
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, Local, and Airport Rules and Regulations
  • Knowledge of FAA Regulations and associated Airport Compliance Documents
  • Knowledge of the current materials, methods, tools, and equipment used in journey level building trades (painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC)

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of airfield and property maintenance.
  • Perform supervisory functions, including but not limited to hiring, employee retention, performance evaluation, professional development, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Analyze fleet composition and necessary requirements to meet Airport goals.
  • Facilitate the procurement process within department budget.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships, with team members, by demonstrating a positive and flexible attitude.
  • Assist others with completion of tasks as necessary.
  • Analyze workloads and make recommendations to senior leadership to improve utilization of staff and resources.
  • Oversee project management, calculating costs, securing vendors/contracts, utilizing cost effective measures that align with departmental budget & goals
  • Implement strategic planning to meet departmental objectives, anticipate challenges, and ensure best possible outcome.
  • Maintain an accurate record of reports, employee training, list of vendors/contractors.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance by coordinating maintenance activities with the Airport Operations team.
  • Maintain consistent communication within the department and other internal stakeholders such as Operations and Administration.
  • Perform routine inspections to ensure the functionality, upkeep, and safety of maintenance equipment.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on safety operations, create policies and procedures that support safety initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
