Location : this is an onsite position in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. What this job involves: The Assistant Facilities Manager supports comprehensive facilities operations by managing specific service areas or building portfolios while serving as a developmental role toward facilities management leadership. This position combines hands-on operational involvement with supervisory responsibilities, allowing you to gain broad exposure to facilities management disciplines while taking ownership of key operational functions. You'll work closely with senior facilities leadership to ensure service quality, support vendor management, and contribute to strategic planning initiatives. This role offers significant growth potential and the opportunity to build expertise across multiple aspects of facilities operations.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience using automated FMMS to develop and manage complex pre-planned work schedule with multiple trades.
  • 5 years in Facility Management administration OR 10 years in preventive maintenance work with three (3) years as a manager.
  • This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee assigned facilities or service areas, conducting regular inspections to monitor conditions, identify maintenance needs, and ensure quality standards are maintained
  • Support work order management by reviewing requests, assigning tasks to appropriate teams, and following up to ensure timely completion and customer satisfaction
  • Assist with vendor coordination and oversight, participating in performance reviews, attending service meetings, and addressing service quality concerns
  • Manage administrative functions including space planning support, move coordination, and facilities documentation to keep operational records current and accurate
  • Support preventive maintenance program execution by tracking completion rates, scheduling activities, and ensuring compliance with manufacturer requirements
  • Respond to facility emergencies and urgent issues, coordinating resources and communicating with stakeholders to minimize operational impact
  • Participate in budget development and expense tracking, monitoring spending against allocations and identifying cost-saving opportunities within assigned areas
