About The Position

The Assistant Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing all facilities maintenance operations at a critical client facility. This role involves leading and assisting in the integration of processes within the client organization to maintain and develop agreed services that support and enhance the effectiveness of its primary activities. The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that the facility operates smoothly and meets the needs of its occupants. Daily responsibilities include conducting walk-throughs of all occupied spaces to monitor for maintenance requests and other needs. The Assistant Manager will also perform various administrative functions, such as distributing mail and package shipments, ordering and stocking supplies, and operating technology and software systems, including MS Office. This position serves as a secondary point of contact for clients, site occupants, property managers, and vendors, assisting the Facilities Manager in managing direct reports and subcontracted service workers, including maintenance workers and IT personnel. In addition to overseeing the overall appearance and operation of the facility, the Assistant Manager will coordinate off-hours utilities, manage vendor access, and ensure quality assurance in the execution of work. The role also involves assisting with event coordination, preparing spaces for events, and ensuring that all vendors vacate the site after events conclude. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn maintenance skills and prepare reports.
