FZ is headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan and is focused on serving customers throughout Michigan, Tennessee, and the Carolinas. FZ is looking for an entry-level, Assistant Estimator for the Charleston, SC office. This role will assist in the development of timely and accurate bid estimates. This individual will also develop an understanding of business components and implications specific to estimating and cost control. Under close supervision, the Associate Estimator supports Senior Estimators and/or Estimators in the estimate preparation process for assigned projects . What We’re Looking for: Detail Oriented. Whether its material or labor cost fluctuations, analyzing a bid document to understand scope of work, ensuring a professional and error-free document goes to the customer, or review a vendor quote, you have an eye for detail and ensure a quality product is always coming from your desk. Additionally, you realize that a deadline is a detail and that deadlines must be met. Process Oriented. You recognize that problems can be mitigated through proper use of processes, standards, and early risk assessment. Scorekeeper. You understand the importance of measuring progress and results, financial and otherwise. You document, you track project data, you keep dashboards up-to- date and you hold yourself accountable for your work. You communicate pertinent information to others. You connect strategies to outcome and results. Seeker of Information. You have a genuine desire to grow in your electrical and estimating knowledge. You don't wait for information to come to you. You go after what you need, gathering accurate information is part of your workday. You are willing to do jobsite walk-throughs, call vendors, and attend review meetings to gather information to ensure accuracy of quotes. Relationship Builder. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent - required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.) - required
  • Electrical and/or construction experience (reading blueprints, etc.) - strongly preferred
  • Strong mathematical, organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Passion for continuous learning
  • Ability to travel regionally to project sites as needed
  • Candidates are required to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in relatable subject - preferred
  • Accubid and/or Bluebeam experience - preferred
