About The Position

The Golf Course Assistant Equipment Technician, with directions from the Lead Technician, Equipment Manager & Superintendent, ensures all golf maintenance and project equipment is fully operational and properly maintained in accordance with daily and seasonal operational schedules. This position reports directly to the Equipment Manager and the Lead Technician on daily tasks and workload.

Requirements

  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Completion of Trade School or a minimum of 1 year working in a trade such as welding, fabrication, mechanic/technician, plumbing, or electrical
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Golf course equipment familiarity is a plus

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in basic repairs with a focus on preventative maintenance
  • Understanding of gasoline, diesel, and electric-powered equipment, including basic repair and maintenance procedures
  • Basic understanding of golf and how turf equipment affects the game of golf
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively with all levels of staff
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and bending, as well as working outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Familiarity with basic computer programs, such as email, spreadsheets, and preventive maintenance systems
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations, particularly related to fractions and calibrations
  • Ability to organize work tasks, maintain accurate records, and keep the work area clean
  • Understanding and prioritizing safety guidelines and procedures related to equipment operation and maintenance
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to business demands

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair all equipment
  • Assist in maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule for all equipment
  • Communicates and coordinates all necessary equipment, maintenance and repairs with Lead Tech & Equipment Manager to ensure efficient production in the field
  • Record keeping for preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Coordinates and executes warranty repairs with Lead Tech & Equipment Manager
  • Progress in learning responsibilities for maintaining an adequate inventory of parts and supplies to support efficient operation of the equipment fleet
  • Inspects the quality of cut, production, and performance of equipment in the field
  • Assists in the training of employees for safe and efficient operation of equipment
  • Keep Equipment Manager and Lead Tech informed of equipment and supply needs
  • Perform other duties as asked and assist with projects
