About The Position

Assists in a variety of mechanical repairs, variety of gasoline and diesel power equipment; maintenance work, including servicing motorized equipment. overhauling, repairing, services and lubricating automotive, turf and other outdoor powered equipment. Ensures all equipment is always in efficient and operable condition. Organizes and maintains a clean and safe area and maintenance area; performs related tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical skills.
  • Must possess good verbal and written skills.
  • Diagnostics
  • Ability to manage a wide variety of activities at the same time.
  • High School or equivalent education required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Mechanic experience
  • Must be able to physically reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to work under variable temperature conditions (extreme heat or cold, indoors/outdoors).
  • Must be able to work around chemicals, dust, fumes and/or odor hazards.
  • Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions and may face the risk of electrical shock or encounter fumes or airborne pathogens.
  • Must be able to work in a loud environment and in areas near moving mechanical parts.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a preventive maintenance program on all equipment.
  • Maintains records of preventative maintenance and repairs made.
  • Maintains up-to-date working knowledge of light maintenance equipment and automotive apparatus.
  • Skilled in the use of a wide variety of equipment repair tools.
  • Helps diagnose mechanical troubles and schedules appropriate preventive maintenance work.
  • Helps to control costs and expenses in the maintenance of the equipment fleet relating to parts purchases, inventory levels, service work, fuel inventories and related items.
  • Inspects, adjusts, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical defects in many types of golf course maintenance equipment.
  • Inspects systems oil changes and repair tires.
  • Performs machining or welding work in making fittings used in repair of maintenance equipment.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
