The Union Co. DA's Office is seeking to fill an entry-level Assistant District Attorney (ADA) position. Our office represents the State of North Carolina in the prosecution of people charged with criminal offenses and serves as advocates for crime victims. We are responsible for prosecuting everything from traffic tickets to First Degree Murder and everything in between. The attorneys we hire are given immediate opportunities to handle serious matters, try cases in the courtroom, and make their community a safer place. Our new attorneys are mentored by experienced prosecutors and are taught everything they need to know to become effective courtroom advocates. Our attorneys perform this impactful and important work in a supportive and collaborative DA's Office environment. Union County is located just southeast of Charlotte and is one of the most rapidly growing areas in the state. With a population of approximately 270,000 people, Union County encompasses both suburban and rural communities. Along with some of the lowest taxes and best schools in North Carolina, Union County residents enjoy a high standard of living. Requirements

  • Candidates must have (or will soon have) an active North Carolina license to practice law.
  • A strong work ethic and a desire to be part of a team are required, as is a desire to do trial work.
  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school and an active license to practice law in North Carolina or imminent North Carolina licensure.
