About The Position

The Assistant Director of Campus Activities & Leadership (CA&L) will assist in planning, promoting, and managing a broad spectrum of campus activities and programs, which will cultivate a vibrant/active social life on campus and help to nurture student leadership development. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree in Student Affairs or related area preferred.
  • Administrative experience at the collegiate level to include managing large-scale campus events as well as overseeing a complete array of fiscal and operational complexities associated with co-curricular event and program planning required.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; detail-oriented.
  • Demonstrated record of successful administrative leadership and experience managing and supervising professional and support staff.
  • Ability to sustain communication with diverse groups, anticipate problems, reconcile conflicts, and maintain a strong student affairs philosophical base for student engagement, development and support.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the CA&L Director, manage the operations of the Fitness Center.
  • Hire and supervise student employees.
  • Manage equipment and facility maintenance, including the purchase of new equipment as needed.
  • Develop and oversee fitness programming, as appropriate.
  • Through joint effort with the CA&L departmental leadership team, brainstorm and create strategic experiential programming for staff team effectiveness and growth, reinforce and aid departmental facilitated events, including retreats, leadership trainings, and weekly staff meetings.
  • Prepare, manage, and steward the operating budget and expenditures associated with key areas of oversight.
  • Regularly attend and assist in CCU Chapels during the school year.
  • Cultivate our departmental student leaders through supporting the hiring process, onboarding, programming, intentional teaching of leadership skills, and development of student directors/coordinators.
  • In collaboration with the CA&L Director, enhance learning opportunities that support the development of leadership skills among our student-staff leaders, with a special focus on training Coordinators and Directors in advance of each Academic year.
  • Supervise student groups within CA&L during the academic year to include coaching, advising on event planning, and other resources as needed.
