Serves as the primary liaison to the School Finance director and collaborates with IT staff and other School Finance staff in the development of PC databases and procedures for gathering business requirements for all projects. This position also monitors the distribution of approximately $5 billion for state foundation aid, supplemental general state aid, bond and interest state aid, capital outlay state aid, special education state aid and KPERS state aid to ensure payments are timely and accurate. Required Minimum Qualifications: Two years of experience in planning, organization and directing the work of a department, program or agency. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Preferred Skills and/or Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in business, finance, management, accounting or public administration; * Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities, highly detail-oriented and accurate; * Effective problem-solving, planning, organization and decision-making skills; * Ability to supervise effectively and work in a team environment; * Ability to lead complex projects with defined timelines and objects by providing clear and effective communication in written and/or verbal form to subordinates in order to improve agency operations; * Ability to work with other agency employees, program directors and elected / appointed officials; * Computer skills necessary to develop and implement programs and procedures to perform advanced accounting and data collection functions; * Advanced level of Excel in order to create complex spreadsheets; and * Job knowledge at an advanced level in administrative work and coordination on complex issues of all areas of School Finance. Preferred Experience: Experience in the area of school finance, municipal and school laws, school budgeting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
