About The Position

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Assist the Director of Transportation in managing the Transportation Department and vehicle maintenance program serving a rapidly growing district. Help to oversee, direct, manage, and administer the daily operations to ensure safety, continuing service, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience
• Clear and valid Texas commercial driver's license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
• Ability to assist with directing and managing operations of a large fleet of vehicles
• Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and annual physical exam
• Ability to assist the daily operations; knowledge of routing, field trips, dispatching, training
• Ability to assist with managing budget and personnel
• Ability to implement policy and procedures
• Ability to interpret data
• Ability to use technology to plan, operate, monitor, and evaluate transportation operations
• Knowledge of school transportation systems and applicable laws and regulations
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Three to five years' experience as a bus driver

Nice To Haves

• TAPT Supervisor of Transportation or Transportation Official Certification preferred
• Three years of supervisory experience in transportation and fleet operations preferred
