About The Position

The Assistant Director, Transfer Articulation & Admissions Processing at Florida Gulf Coast University is responsible for overseeing the processing of undergraduate admissions transfer applications, course credit articulation, and residency. This role involves developing efficient business practices to ensure timely and accurate processing of applications and supporting materials. The Assistant Director supervises a team of professional and support staff, collaborates with various university departments, and represents undergraduate admissions in university committees and events.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions, or eight years of directly related full-time experience.
  • Experience with large relational databases, such as Banner.
  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to the position.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Four years of professional full-time work experience in higher education admissions processing.
  • Experience in applying federal, state, and university guidelines governing admission practices.
  • Experience with transfer credit articulation.
  • Experience with Banner and Slate.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees, coordinates, and participates in the planning, implementation, documentation, administration, and maintenance of Transfer Articulation.
  • Researches transfer course content, encodes, and maintains the Transfer Articulation Catalog.
  • Works with academic advisors and departments to ensure accuracy of all transfer credits.
  • Composes documentation and writes reports requiring recommendations and conclusions.
  • Collaborates with Records and Registration on degree audit issues.
  • Ensures all admissions records are complete and comply with regulations.
  • Makes corrections in the student record database as necessary.
  • Trains, guides, and mentors processing staff engaged in related work.
  • Assists in establishing goals and measures to evaluate success in the area of responsibility.
  • Maintains professional knowledge and evaluates new technologies for implementation.
  • Assists with processing residency and overseeing residency processing staff.
  • Represents Undergraduate Admissions on university committees and participates in recruitment events.
