About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking an Assistant Director, Training to support Counseling Services’ multidisciplinary clinical training program. Reporting to the Director of Training, this position coordinates and delivers training for pre-master’s, post-master’s, pre-doctoral, and post-doctoral trainees, with a primary focus on social work training. Responsibilities include recruitment and selection of trainees; clinical supervision, training, and evaluation; and coordination of training activities and related administrative duties. In addition, the position provides direct clinical services, including individual and group psychotherapy, consultation, crisis response, and campus outreach.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work and three (3) years of related professional work experience; OR Doctoral Degree in Social Work and two (2) years of related professional work experience
  • Related Experience: Post licensure work experience t o include clinical supervisory experience with social work practicum students and post-masters clinical social work interns.
  • Certification and Licensure Clinical social work licensure for a minimum of three (3) years
  • Eligibility for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Nevada
  • Must obtain Nevada LCSW licensure within six (6) months of appointment
  • Candidates licensed in other states are encouraged to apply and should consult the Nevada Board of Social Work to confirm eligibility within this timeframe
  • Completion of the Nevada Board of Social Work clinical supervision training within one (1) year of start date
  • Occasional travel
  • Variable work schedule
