The Assistant Director, Talent Development will lead a variety of programs aimed at supporting and growing a high-performing, healthy, fulfilling, and engaging work experience at HBS Online. This role will work directly with HBS Online staff, managers, candidates, and HBS HR to continue to build out an innovative and effective team. Reporting to the Human Resources Director, HBS Online, the Assistant Director will manage the annual performance review process, advocate for its importance, and ensure that the team meets School deadlines and objectives. The role involves coaching managers on goal setting, feedback, documentation, and appropriate ratings. Additionally, the Assistant Director will work with managers to create stretch goals and development plans to advance the internal talent pipeline, support professional development by proposing resources and programs, and manage HBS Online initiatives and training programs. The Assistant Director will also conduct in-house engagement surveys, design follow-up activities, and collect feedback to ensure that the organization continues to make progress on areas of focus. This includes developing internal communications to enhance alignment with organizational priorities and leading efforts to establish a positive culture for HBS Online. The role requires providing guidance to managers navigating personnel challenges and managing culture and employee engagement initiatives. Furthermore, the Assistant Director will partner closely with the Human Resources Director to support the needs of a growing organization, oversee onboarding and offboarding practices, and contribute to recruiting efforts during surge recruiting activity. This position is hybrid, requiring onsite work at the Boston campus three days a week, with specific hours determined by business needs.
