The Assistant Director, Systems and Network Technologies at Bristol Community College plays a crucial role in overseeing the management and support of the college's data network and various IT systems. This full-time position is part of the Information Technology Services (ITS) department and is based in Fall River, MA. The Assistant Director will be responsible for the college's network infrastructure, which includes switches, routers, wireless systems, and firewalls, as well as telecommunications and server management, including Active Directory and Office 365 administration. The role also involves designing and implementing backup and recovery procedures to ensure the integrity and security of the college's electronic data and technology resources. In this position, the Assistant Director will ensure that industry standards and security best practices are enforced to protect the college's technology resources. The role requires occasional off-hours work during nights and weekends for urgent issues and maintenance that cannot be performed during regular business hours. Regular travel between college locations is also a requirement of the job. The Assistant Director will be tasked with designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure, including local area networks (LANs), Storage Area Networks (SAN), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks. They will configure, manage, and upgrade network devices, provide security leadership, respond to network emergencies, and stay updated with the latest networking technologies. Additionally, the Assistant Director will manage backup software, monitor the virtual server environment, and ensure disaster recovery is included in all designs or improvements. The position also involves supervising larger scale projects, providing technical support to end-users, and focusing on customer service best practices when interacting with the college community.
