The Assistant Director of Student Services for Summer Session at the University of Chicago is responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures related to student services for a diverse range of programs.   • Develop and implement student-related policies and procedures for various programs.
  • Ensure accuracy in all student-related processes and record-keeping.
  • Recommend policy changes in response to new programs and evolving circumstances.
  • Serve as Slate CRM lead, reviewing and revising application queries and forms.
  • Develop and oversee admissions processes, workflow, and timelines.
  • Monitor, report on, and analyze admissions data, recommending actions as needed.
  • Act as a primary admissions reader for pre-college programs, making decisions on admissions and financial aid.
  • Develop and implement financial aid awards process for pre-college students.
  • Develop communications streams for students and parents regarding key decisions and policies.
  • Maintain the Summer Session website and conduct annual reviews.
  • Serve as point of contact for students and parents, functioning as a pre-college academic advisor.
  • Liaise with key campus partners to shape policies and advocate for student needs.
  • Set and communicate program priorities and performance standards, assessing operations accordingly.
  • Analyze program budgets and make budgetary recommendations.
  • Perform other related work as needed.
  • Master's degree or a comparable advanced degree.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a higher education setting or similar experience.
  • Background in selective admissions, advising, program development, or a related area.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Proficiency with Slate strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to master database programs and learn new technologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
