The Assistant Director for Student Organizations in the Center for Student Involvement is responsible for the coordination of developmental opportunities for student organizations and for the planning and implementation of large-scale Center for Student Involvement events including Org Fest, Redbud Awards, Maroon Madness, and involvement fairs. Serves as one of the primary administrators for my TWU, TWU’s app for student engagement, powered by Campus Groups. Supervises Pioneer Involvement Team and the management of student organization registration, student organization leader development, and student organization funding. The Assistant Director works closely with students to initiate, plan, develop, and facilitate events and activities to enhance the quality of student life and University experience for all students. Work is performed under general supervision and performance evaluation is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.

  • Serves as one of the primary administrators for myTWU, TWU’s app for student engagement, powered by Campus Groups.
  • Coordinates and implements risk management processes for Student Organizations.
  • Responsible for understanding, interpreting, formulating, and evaluating policies and procedures related to student clubs and organizations.
  • Supervises Pioneer Involvement Team through effective management of marketing, programming, and funding requests for student organizations.
  • Develops and facilitates retreats for student organizations.
  • Coordinates registration, renewal, and audit processes for over 136 student organizations.
  • Maintains department purchasing card and reimbursement process for student organizations.
  • Coordinates in-person student organization fairs and involvement presentations in conjunction with New Student Orientation.
  • Provides consistent communication to student leaders through various mediums (e-mail, website, social media, newsletters, etc.).
  • Maintains and updates student organizational marketing to include website, social media, and printed publications.
  • Coordinates the execution of large-scale campus events, including Maroon Madness programming for fall and spring semesters, annual Redbud Awards, Org Fest, and Involvement Fairs.
  • Assesses learning and expected outcomes for programs.
  • Develops and executes program opportunities that allow for additional experiences which increases student skills in problem solving and critical thinking processes.
  • Advances philosophies of student development while promoting active engagement in staffing, programming, and student leadership.
  • Master’s degree in higher education, student development, counseling, or a related field is preferred.
  • Three years of related work experience advising students and student groups, can include graduate work and/or assistantships.
  • Experience using digital tools for project management, communication and/or data management preferred; must be tech savvy and adaptable to new technology.
