About The Position

The Assistant Director of Security supports the Director of Security in managing the daily operations of the Security Department. This role focuses on three core pillars: Safety (for members, guests, and employees), Loss Prevention, and Access Control. The Assistant Director helps lead and train the team, ensures policies and procedures are followed, and collaborates with other departments and agencies to provide a safe and secure resort environment. This position acts as a second-in-command, providing oversight in the Director's absence and driving operational excellence in all aspects of security.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of security, law enforcement, or resort-related experience.
  • Loss Prevention or American Hotel & Lodging Association training preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director in overseeing daily security operations with a focus on Safety, Loss Prevention, and Access Control.
  • Supervise and support Security Supervisors and Officers to ensure proper patrol coverage of public and nonpublic areas.
  • Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and guest/member concerns, ensuring positive and professional resolutions.
  • Conduct investigations into accidents, incidents, thefts, and policy violations, preparing detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Support the development, training, and certification of Security Employees in CPR/First Responder/AED.
  • Monitor and test access control systems, alarms, and surveillance equipment, reporting issues and ensuring compliance with state/local requirements.
  • Assist in scheduling, training, counseling, and performance reviews for Security team members.
  • Work with local law enforcement, fire, and emergency services to coordinate response efforts.
  • Promote safe work practices, adherence to company Substance Abuse Policy, and defensive driving practices when operating company vehicles.
  • Help monitor departmental budgets and staffing levels to meet operational needs within financial guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and communication with management regarding risks and vulnerabilities.
