About The Position

The Residence Life Office is looking for a dynamic and energetic individual to join the team! This is a 12-month live-on appointment. The Live-In Assistant Director of Residence Life is a vital part of the team in helping to continue the vision and mission of the department. They are responsible to the Associate Director of Student Advocacy and Residence Life for supervising a staff of up to 3 professional staff members, as well as overseeing the daily activities of buildings housing up to 700 students. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Directing, supervising, and administering the student personnel and residence life functions for a residential community Oversee and facilitate the Code of Conduct process through educating students on residence hall and university policies and serving as a hearing officer for on-campus discipline cases Professional staff supervision and development Manage crises and serve in on-call rotation Program development and coordination Policy development and implementation Professional and paraprofessional staff selection and training Budget development and oversight Collaborate with various offices to ensure each resident is receiving a high-quality living experience Represent residence life in student affairs, campus, and/or system-wide committees, as appropriate Serve as primary contact between campus residence life and Central residence life offices Should possess a thorough understanding of the role and purpose of residence hall living as it applies to student development.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
  • This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
