Purpose To provide management and oversight of the physical therapy department; to coordinate, delegate, and supervise responsibilities assigned to Physical Therapists I and II, Physical Therapist Assistants, and support staff (PT Tech, Student Assistants, etc.); and to evaluate, plan, direct, administer, and document physical therapy services to patients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy (PT) from a CAPTE-accredited school.
  • Current Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners license.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a physical therapist, including at least 2 years working in outpatient or sports medicine setting.
  • At least 3 years of experience PT department manager or supervisor, overseeing Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Demonstrated Professional demeanor.
  • Experience documenting in an electronic health record.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including experience with EHR/practice management software and proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates, plans, directs, administers, and documents physical therapy services to patients.
  • Maintains electronic patient health records.
  • Manages the Physical Therapy department staff and operations to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintains a level of knowledge conducive of providing high-quality patient care.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and commitment to quality care by adhering to customer service standards, respecting patient rights and confidentiality, following policies and procedures, and actively supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Actively participates in maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
  • Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance pattern.
  • Readily accepts other responsibilities and participates in other activities and committees as assigned.
