About The Position

Spend your year helping build something meaningful and your summer living it. The Union for Reform Judaism’s Olin-Sang-Ruby Union Institute (OSRUI) is looking for an Assistant Director to grow our camp community through creative storytelling, strong relationships, and engaging programs, both during the summer and throughout the year. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who loves camp , enjoys working with teens and families, and wants to build skills in marketing, engagement, and leadership.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in communications, marketing, youth engagement, camp, or a related field
  • Familiarity with marketing and communications tools (e.g., Canva, WordPress, email platforms)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to travel occasionally for recruitment, events, and staff gatherings
  • Participation in local , regional, and national NFTY and teen events
  • Live onsite at OSRUI during the summer season
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a camp, youth, or immersive community setting strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Marketing & Communications Create and manage content across social media, email, and websites
  • Help run marketing campaigns that engage campers, families, and the broader community
  • Tell OSRUI and NFTY’s story in fun, authentic ways
  • Coordinate with vendors and support branded materials and merchandise
  • Help manage systems like Salesforce and Marketing Cloud to keep data accurate and outreach effective
  • Track engagement and help improve communication strategies
  • Support camper and staff recruitment, enrollment, and retention
  • Build relationships with families, alumni, and partner organizations
  • Assist with outreach to congregations and youth networks
  • Help plan and run summer programs
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and fun camp environment
  • Support staff onboarding, training, and supervise seasonal team members
  • Plan and run youth programming including NFTY regional and national events throughout the year
  • Mentor teen leaders and support program logistics
  • Strengthen connections with congregations, youth professionals, and partner organizations
