About The Position

The Assistant Director of Annual Giving - Young Alumni Engagement is responsible for executing and creating initiatives aimed at cultivating a culture of philanthropy among students and young alumni (0 to 5.5 years since graduation). This role involves developing personalized communication strategies for previous year donors and collaborating with campus partners to enhance giving opportunities. The position requires interaction with young alumni and students through various communication channels and the execution of strategic young alumni event programming. The Assistant Director will also develop relationships with current students to facilitate a seamless transition to engaged alumni and will assist in planning and executing a 5th Year Class Reunion plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 years in fundraising, account management, marketing or a relevant field.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and create initiatives geared towards cultivating a culture of philanthropy in students and young alumni.
  • Develop and execute specific and personalized communication strategies for previous year donors.
  • Execute personalized follow-up communication around Anniversary of Last Gift mailing and email.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to enhance giving by identifying timely opportunities.
  • Develop presentations for student groups for student organization campaigns.
  • Develop and execute strategic, sustainable student philanthropy plans.
  • Interact with young alumni and students through various communications.
  • Execute initiatives that create a culture of alumni pride and engagement.
  • Coordinate on-campus and off-campus strategic young alumni event programming.
  • Attend and participate in Alumni Awards, Homecoming, Commencement, and Reunion Weekend events.
  • Develop and execute educational presentations for students on alumni philanthropy.
  • Develop and execute alumni transition engagement points with current seniors.
  • Execute strategic touch points for current students to develop awareness of alumni engagement.
  • Develop relationships with current students for a seamless transition to engaged alumni.
  • Develop and implement a 5th Year Class Reunion plan.
  • Assist in identifying, recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers from the 5th Year Class.
  • Work with alumni volunteers to plan communications and activities for Reunion weekend.
  • Establish attendance, engagement, and fundraising goals and monitor progress.
  • Support and commit to embracing diverse backgrounds and values.
  • Complete required training and performance management cycle.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
