As the Assistant Director of Worship, you will serve as a key mentoring and developmental leader within the Worship Department—focused on leader care, coaching, and pipeline development. You will partner closely with the Director of Worship to cultivate healthy, aligned, and growing worship leaders and teams across all campuses. Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in leadership development, coaching, or pastoral care
  • A heart for discipleship and team health
  • The ability to give and receive feedback with humility and clarity
  • Strong relational intelligence and emotional maturity
  • A desire to continually grow as a leader and servant in the local church

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary relational and developmental support for: Campus Worship Leaders (staff and stipend) Emerging worship leaders in the development pipeline
  • Conduct regular 1:1 check-ins for encouragement, care, coaching, and alignment
  • Works with Director of Worship on budget creation, maintenance, and stewarding.
  • Provide first-line support for burnout prevention, conflict resolution, and role clarity
  • Escalate complex or sensitive matters to the Director of Worship as appropriate
  • Champion healthy rhythms, spiritual formation, and sustainable ministry practices
  • Oversee the development and upkeep of the worship leader development pathway
  • Coordinate auditions, onboarding, training, and readiness processes
  • Identify, coach, and prepare potential future Campus Worship Leaders
  • Create intentional coaching rhythms, feedback loops, and growth milestones
  • Support musical, spiritual, and leadership development in emerging leaders
  • Help ensure clarity of expectations, values, and rhythms across campuses
  • Serve as a relational bridge between departmental vision and day-to-day ministry realities
  • Foster unity and alignment without enforcing uniformity
  • Gather insights, feedback, and trends from campus leaders and communicate them to departmental leadership
  • Partner closely with: Creative & Music Development leadership Next Gen Worship leadership Español and multicultural worship leadership
  • Support interim or developing campus leadership roles as needed
  • Contribute to department-wide planning, evaluation, and continuous improvement
  • Lead worship and music direct at Calvary's campuses as needed.
