The Department of Public Health’s (DPH) Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) is seeking a dynamic applicant to fill the role of Assistant Director of Women and Family Services. This position, under the supervision of the Director of Women and Family Services, will assist in managing, planning, and supporting the implementation of all Bureau activities related to the provision of services for women and families impacted by substance use disorder. The role will intersect and collaborate with other DPH efforts related to women and families, representing BSAS and collaborating with other state agencies and community health providers to increase efficiencies of best practices between systems, and for policy formulating and BSAS practice in policy determining. The Assistant Director will supervise the Women’s Services Coordinator, who will assist in providing guidance to BSAS contracted providers and other functions related to the improvement of the service and recovery system. This position will provide policy determining to leadership in the development of gender-responsive, family-centered, strength-based and trauma responsive women and family services that are reflective of the Bureau’s commitment to racial equity. Responsibilities also include contract management of the Bureau’s women and family capacity building vendor, review of data collection and evaluation efforts, and providing policy guidance and expertise on related projects such as service and workforce capacity building, supporting SAPT Block Grant goals, providing input into Requests for Response (RFR’s), reviewing proposals, and responding to requests for information. The mission of BSAS is to foster healthy life choices through culturally responsive services that prevent, treat, and promote recovery from substance-related disorders, with a commitment to racial equity and improving the quality of life for all Commonwealth residents, focusing on traditionally underserved and underrepresented populations.
