About The Position

This position supports the Director of Entertainment Venue Operations overseeing the Technical Entertainment Operations for both Caesars Entertainment Citywide (Harrah’s, LINQ, Flamingo, Horseshoe, Paris, Planet Hollywood) and the PH Live & Colosseum Operation Directors as needed. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for assisting in managing all aspects of FOH & BOH Entertainment Operations serving as needed as a key point of contact for an Artist & Show Production Manager or management team, assisting in the design creation and operational flow of their show. The Assistant Director assists in leading the Technical Department, providing leadership and guidance for their team. Will assist in leading a team specializing in FOH operations management, production and BOH management as well as other entertainment support functions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in live entertainment, either in venue operations and / or touring.
  • Expertise in managing operating systems including lifts, rigging, lighting and sound
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong Administrative background building and streamlining systems including SOPs, Digital File Systems and Asset Management
  • The position will work non-traditional hours planning for and supporting performances in the venue.
  • The position will operate in a dynamic, fast paced, and at times stressful, environment and will be expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously while demonstrating judgement on prioritization.
  • Requires a highly energetic, detail-oriented self-starter who can work as a member of a team to solve problems and create in-person experiences that make lasting impacts.

Nice To Haves

  • Management experience and supervisory skills are a plus
  • Experience with Oracle, UKG and FileMaker Pro are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist supporting the Citywide Entertainment & Technical team as needed providing and technical point-of-contact for all shows performing in the citywide showrooms and lounges
  • Provide operational and technical guidance to venue operators and team members
  • Provide routine check-ins and supervision for FOH and BOH operational team members
  • Maintain working knowledge of technical safety and general technical practices in the ever-evolving areas of production
  • Learn and be able to perform in the large venue format business operations and strategy for both PH Live and The Colosseum.
  • Assist in management oversight over all capital projects involving entertainment venues supporting the Citywide Director of Technical Production
  • Assist in negotiating IATSE Local 720 agreements, grievances, and other personal matters involving BOH and FOH union employees
  • Work directly with the Citywide Sr. Director of Entertainment assisting promoters, clients, and internal departments to generate the effective execution of public and private events
  • Assist providing direction, guidance, and support team regarding the hiring/terminating, training, scheduling, evaluating, and promoting of FOH & BOH Entertainment Operations employees.
  • Work closely with the Citywide Entertainment Team on Entertainment Department’s Settlement and Finance teams for all departmental forecasting, budgeting, and financial tracking. Including but not limited to: pro forma structuring prior to offer submittal, artist and promoter settlements, and post-event analysis and reporting
  • Oversee a show’s load-in / load-out, rigging, tech as well as any production as needed
  • Supervise and review all schedules for all production crew and FOH needs as required for the proper presentation of the Show, including all work calls
  • Be on-site for shows at the venues supervising production requirements as needed by the Sr. Director of Entertainment or Citywide Director of Technical Production
  • Work closely with FOH and BOH entertainment teams to ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of each venue’s technical equipment and FOH gear
  • Assist Citywide Director of Technical Production in developing training plans for all FOH and BOH staff along with standardized event SOP’s
  • Continually seek improvements in operations and production management standards through learnings and, where possible, best-in-class industry practices and trends
  • Other projects as assigned by the Citywide Director of Technical Production
  • Other projects as assigned by the Sr. Director of Entertainment Operations
  • Lead organization with methods and actions that are ethical and in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies
  • Identify compliance risks and take actions necessary to eliminate or minimize risks
  • Champion, within the organization, a commitment to honesty, integrity, and responsible corporate behavior
  • Create a compliance culture within the organization and foster an environment where employees feel comfortable reporting potential violations or misconduct
  • Design standard operating procedures for communication and department organization
  • Assist Citywide Entertainment Directors in developing and maintaining operating and capital budgets for both Technical and Entertainment Operational budgets
  • Support Venue Directors at PH Live and Colosseum as needed to cover key dates acting as the head of operations
  • Assist in End of Month accounting review processes and P&L review sessions
  • Be knowledgeable in CCFD and NFPA Fire, Building, and Egress codes, standards and safety being able to initiate the permit process with CCFD and represent the venue in discussions regarding safety and compliance
  • Liase with Caesars Filming & Broadcast Production department to facilitate concert and production filming requirements and represent the venue and Entertainment Department
  • Represent the venue and Entertainment department to Banquets and Conventions for special events and convention groups, ensuring the venue’s policies and procedures are adhered to
