Division: Management & Non-Union (MAN010) Band 3 Assistant Director of Tennis Primary Responsibilities: Assist the Director of Tennis in managing the day-to-day operations of the tennis facility. Support in preparing annual operating and CIP budgets. Help implement department procedures, policies, and standards. Ensure the tennis facility meets resort standards. Assist with merchandise selection for the tennis shop. Provide tennis lessons and help organize tournaments. Promote the tennis facility to homeowners and guests and contribute to marketing strategies.

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of related tennis or hospitality experience.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial information and assist with budgeting.
  • Pleasant, professional demeanor and ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
  • Physical capability to play tennis, conduct lessons, and oversee operations.
  • Ability to lift/carry or push/pull up to 20 lbs of equipment or merchandise.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with staff, guests, and vendors.
  • Ability to write memos, correspondence, and assist with policy documentation.
  • Must be able to work shift and days determined by the Manager.
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week, when needed.
  • Flexible schedule as determined by the Director of Tennis or Hotel Manager.
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to work more than 50 hours per week.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Tennis Instructor preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing annual operating and CIP budgets.
  • Support the development and implementation of department policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Help manage department operations in compliance with company policies and CBA terms.
  • Greet and welcome guests, ensuring personalized service aligned with resort standards.
  • Review daily fee charges and sales; assist with reporting as requested.
  • Promote the facility to guests, homeowners, and group coordinators.
  • Assist in marketing efforts and preparation of promotional materials.
  • Help manage work schedules, labor costs, and departmental expenses.
  • Participate in hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating staff under the Director’s guidance.
  • Assist with payroll review and verification.
  • Ensure safety standards and training are upheld.
  • Respond to guest and employee concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Provide tennis lessons, clinics, and assist in tournament coordination.
  • Stay informed on tennis industry trends and support innovative practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Tennis.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
  • Attend resort and departmental meetings as required.
  • Maintain department bulletin board and assist with internal communications.
  • Support other positions within the department as needed.
  • Collaborate with other resort departments when available.
