About The Position
The Assistant Director is responsible for engaging students on-campus and creating a vibrant campus community through student activities, student groups/clubs/organizations, and student-centered events. The Assistant Director is responsible for overseeing the Student Activities Committee (SAC), and engage students through student clubs and organizations. This position will have oversight of the student club budgets (SAFAC). This position will also oversee Student Government. The Assistant Director will make informed suggestions on campus entertainment and performers that engage the student body and bring life to the campus community and college experience for SMSU students. This position will be involved in assisting with university-wide programming for students including but not limited to: student orientation, homecoming, family weekend, Black history month, Women's history month, and more. The Assistant Director will also oversee intramural sports programming.
