This role helps oversee business operations, supports strategic initiatives, and ensures effective program administration. The position also acts as a key liaison between the department and internal/external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5–10 years of progressive leadership experience in Plant Operations & Maintenance (POM), with a strong record of cost control in complex settings.
  • Experience in college/university facility management required.
  • Strategic thinker with strong leadership, planning, and communication abilities.
  • Solid business acumen and a collaborative approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrates initiative, accountability, flexibility, and effective team leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Support the RVP in leading departmental operations, including planning, directing, and evaluating performance.
  • Provide financial oversight, prepare operational reports, and recommend cost-control strategies to enhance efficiency.
  • Supervise departmental staff and ensure unit-level objectives align with broader goals.
  • Contribute to short- and long-term strategic planning and goal-setting.
  • Advise on company involvement in University-wide programs and strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental coordination to align efforts and avoid conflicts.
  • Monitor and improve internal processes, compliance measures, and reporting systems.
  • Assist in the development and revision of departmental policies.
  • Remain current with industry trends and participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Represent the department on committees and user groups as needed.
