The Assistant Director of Nursing Services (Assistant DON) - Registered Nurse (RN) at LaFayette Manor Inc. plays a critical role in supporting the Director of Nursing in overseeing the delivery of high-quality nursing care to residents. Requirements

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in long-term care or geriatric settings.
  • Basic knowledge of nursing management and healthcare regulations applicable to nursing homes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Nursing in managing daily nursing operations and staff supervision.
  • Coordinate and participate in the development and implementation of resident care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.
  • Provide clinical support and guidance to nursing staff, including training and performance evaluations.
  • Monitor resident health status, respond to changes, and collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize care.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of nursing activities and resident records.
  • Support emergency preparedness and infection control protocols within the nursing department.
