About The Position

You'll serve as Assistant Director of Nursing at a skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Waterloo, New York, working under the administrative guidance of the Director of Nursing to establish and enhance clinical and operational systems. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Professional Nursing
  • Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license required
  • Four (4) years of managerial experience with demonstrated leadership abilities in a Long-Term Care setting
  • Two (2) years of nursing experience
  • Knowledge and application of New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) regulations, including successful experience with the survey process
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with medical staff, department leaders, residents, families, and the public in a resident- and family-centered environment
  • Ability to function effectively in high-stress or challenging situations
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Computer proficiency, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Prior experience at the Assistant Director of Nursing level preferred
  • PRI and MDS knowledge and/or experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of PRI and MDS processes to maximize reimbursement and support financial sustainability
  • Coordinate employee safety initiatives and oversee the LTC attendance procedure process
  • Deliver daily supervisory oversight of nursing staff and clinical operations
  • Assume Nurse Manager responsibilities when another Nurse Manager is absent
  • Participate in recruitment and interview processes for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) candidates
  • Support fiscal responsibility through budgeting, financial analysis, cost control, and revenue enhancement
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate strategies that ensure nursing competency, excellence in practice, and effective use of technology
  • Chair and actively participate in committees related to nursing operations and organizational performance
  • Oversee the facility's Performance Improvement Program , ensuring care delivery meets regulatory standards and aligns with organizational mission, vision, and values.
  • Participate in the long-term care divisional Performance Improvement Committee and represent the Nursing Department on the LTC Safety Committee.
