Friendship is looking for a Full Time Assistant Director of Nursing, LPN to join our dedicated team at Friendship Salem Terrace. The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for completing reviews on assigned audits as objectively and accurately as possible in order to uphold the quality and performance standards of Friendship and the state regulations. They regularly inform staff of any changes to these policies and procedures or state and federal laws. In the absence of the Director of Nursing, the Assistant Director of Nursing performs the duties of the Director. Roles & Responsibilities: Compliments the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, and supervising activities of the nursing team to ensure quality of resident care and delegating tasks to team members as needed Assist with the development and implementation of nursing services, objectives, and policies and procedures in accordance with State regulations Monitors residents’ charts to ensure accuracy, that charting is current and manages/tracks discrepancies. Updates the UAI annually and when necessary to make sure it reflects the correct level of care. Completes the ISP within 72 hours of admission to meet immediate needs and completes comprehensive ISP within 30 days. Updates the ISP annually and when necessary to reflect changes or updates to care. Thins charts of current residents and stores in medical records area. Set goals and establish priorities; coordinate and manage the activities and resources to achieve those goals Completes annual chart updates by scheduling an interdisciplinary care plan meeting with resident and family and includes input from the Director of Nursing/Administrator. Adheres to all policies and procedures set forth by Friendship and convey these policies to the nursing team Provide oversight to nursing team to ensure compliance with assisted living regulations and policies/procedures. Monitors residents with long term care insurance and faxes information as needed regarding status. Is responsible for communication with nursing regarding destruction of all medications. Assist with training initiatives for nursing staff, to include General Orientation, required in-service training and clinical training for the nursing department Assist with Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement in developing and implementing appropriate plans of actions Qualifications: Unencumbered LPN license in the state of Virginia required 4-6 years’ nursing experience and supervisory experience, preferred Must exhibit strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills Completion of the UAI training with certification preferred Completion of ISP training with certification preferred Ability to work flexible schedule with an on call requirement Adult First Aid/CPR and AED required. Friendship can provide training Knowledgeable of laws, regulations and guidelines as they relate to assisted living care, preferred This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day.
