The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing (DON) in overseeing the clinical operations of the home health agency. This role ensures high‑quality patient care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and effective implementation of clinical standards, policies, and procedures across the agency.

  • Assist the DON in planning, developing, implementing and maintaining clinical policies and procedures.
  • Support oversight of day‑to‑day clinical operations to ensure high‑quality and efficient patient care.
  • Monitor compliance with state, federal, and accreditation regulations (CMS, Medicare Conditions of Participation, etc.).
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities and data review.
  • Help manage clinical staff scheduling, productivity, and capacity planning.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and competency validation for clinical staff.
  • Provide clinical leadership, coaching, and performance feedback to nursing staff.
  • Support case conferences, clinical reviews, and coordination of care with interdisciplinary team.
  • Help investigate patient care concerns, incident reports, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation across the agency.
  • Serve as acting DON when needed.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in CO state in good standing.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of nursing experience; home health experience required.
  • 2+ years previous leadership or supervisory experience required.
  • Strong understanding of home health regulations, OASIS requirements, and Medicare guidelines.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Knowledge of home health clinical standards and best practices.
  • Ability to lead and mentor clinical staff.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and documentation standards.
  • Strong critical‑thinking and decision‑making abilities.
