About The Position

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) assists the Director of Nursing (DON) in directing the activities of both licensed and non-licensed personnel. You will play a vital role in overseeing nursing services to residents on a 24-hour, 7-day per week basis, ensuring the highest quality of care is delivered. Requirements

  • Must possess a current, unencumbered RN license.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse clinical team.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding resident and employee information.
  • A dedication to treating all residents with the utmost respect and dignity.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the DON in planning, developing, and supervising nursing staff activities.
  • Provide overall management and support to the clinical team.
  • Oversee daily clinical operations, including making rounds and monitoring resident conditions to ensure safety and quality of care.
  • Work with the DON to recruit, hire, and train nursing staff.
  • Assist with performance appraisals and resolving personnel issues, including disciplinary actions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of nursing objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Stay current on regulatory changes and ensure the facility remains compliant.
  • Act as a liaison between residents, family members, and physicians.
  • Provide regular reports and recommendations to the DON regarding nursing operations.
  • Assist in conducting ongoing in-service training for nursing staff to ensure consistent delivery of care and the promotion of resident rights.
  • Act as the back-up for the DON, RN, and LVN staff.
  • Provide direct resident care as needed to maintain facility standards.
