About The Position

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) assists the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Services Department. They are responsible for maintaining a quality assurance program as well as overseeing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department. The ADON may also perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing. This position is a member of Nursing Administration.

Requirements

  • Must have ASN or BSN degree from an accredited college
  • Must have an active RN license in the state of Virginia or be eligible to receive VA license
  • Five years of experience in skilled nursing environment
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop and implement programs
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing in a long-term care facility

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of supervisory or nursing administration experience is preferred
  • Previous ADON or skilled unit manager experience in long-term care
