About The Position
The Assistant Director of Loans & Federal Programs is responsible for the management, processing, and awarding of the Federal Direct Loan Program and all Alternative loan programs. This role serves as the point of contact for lenders and servicers to assist with skip tracing reports and contacting students in a delinquency or default status. The Assistant Director will handle the caseload of all students (A-Z) who borrow educational loans at the University of Mary Washington (UMW). Additionally, the position is responsible for the Pell and TEACH Grant programs, working with students on the TEACH Grant process, and reconciling and resolving all rejects with the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) for Federal Direct Loans and Grant programs. The Assistant Director will also serve as the liaison with outside collection agencies and loan servicing for the Perkins Loan Program (ECSI). Daily responsibilities include assisting with telephone and email customer service relating to loans, participating in customer service training, and assisting with other duties as assigned.
