About The Position

Requirements

  • Master of Library Science (MLS) or Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience with standard office equipment and programs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment using specialized software.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Dean of Library Services in daily operations.
  • Provide effective information literacy instruction across the institution.
  • Act as a liaison to the incoming student outreach program.
  • Provide staff training and reference and circulation services to patrons.
  • Plan and expand support to students, faculty, and staff in the academic setting.
  • Assist in the collection development of library materials in various formats.
  • Integrate planning, budgeting, and staffing to provide excellent library service.
  • Assist in strategic and operational planning and formulation of goals, policies, and procedures for Library Services.
  • Provide instructional leadership for information literacy initiatives and programs.
  • Represent the College in local, state, regional, and national library organizations.
  • Submit recommendations on library policies and services to the Dean of Library Services.
  • Provide library public relations, student engagement, and marketing services.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
  • Plan and conduct staff meetings and trainings.
  • Serve on college-wide committees and initiatives as designated.
