About The Position

The Assistant Director of Greek Life provides strategic leadership to ensure that the vision, direction, and operations of the Greek community align with the University’s mission and enhance the overall student experience. This role places primary emphasis on the advisement, oversight, and advancement of the Interfraternity Council (IFC), supporting its executive leadership and member chapters in achieving organizational excellence, accountability, and growth. In addition, the position also contributes to the continued development and success of the University of Arkansas’ Greek community, which includes four governing councils (IFC, NPHC, UGC, and Panhellenic) and 35 nationally affiliated Greek-lettered organizations. Regular, reliable, and professional attendance is an essential function of this role, as is the ability to foster and maintain collegial, collaborative, and productive working relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (i.e. communication, business, health, education) from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least two years experience working in or with Greek organizations
  • Experience working with fraternities and sororities, and other programming efforts including but not limited to social policy, risk management, leadership and career development, and fraternity/sorority formal recruitment and new membership intake

Nice To Haves

  • At least two years of full-time professional experience working as a university Student Affairs staff member in the areas of student advising, educational programming and event planning and/or residential building management at the collegiate campus level
  • Experience in student development, crisis management, and advising, and student accountability
  • Experience in developing and presenting programs and/or workshops and developing educational materials for undergraduate students at the collegiate level
  • Knowledge of trends, practices, and planning/programming
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Project management and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work well with students and colleagues
