About The Position

The Assistant Director Of Front Office at Art Ovation Sarasota plays a pivotal role as the manager on duty in the hotel when senior managers are unavailable. This dynamic role involves managing shifts in the Rooms Departments, ensuring seamless guest experiences, and upholding the hotel's exceptional standards of service. The Assistant Director of Front Office will oversee and coordinate Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Front Drive operations. This position requires excellent leadership skills, exceptional guest service, and the ability to handle diverse responsibilities with professionalism.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; addit
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in Hospitality is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, associates, and external partners.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, such as OSHA and ADA requirements.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to remain professional and courteous in difficult situations.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate a variety of vehicles, including hotel shuttle vans.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, as well as climb stairs, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have the ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively in person and via electronic devices, such as surveillance monitors and two-way radios.
  • Utilize computer systems effectively, with well-versed experience in Opera PMS and Marriott-Empower (GXP), to handle guest registrations, run reports, manage guest requests, and monitor Front Drive operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the Front Desk, and Front Drive teams, conducting interviews, training, scheduling, and Performance Evaluations as needed.
  • Ensure smooth and efficient daily operations, proactively resolving guest requests, and ensuring maximum customer satisfaction while adhering to Shaner policies.
  • Monitor staff schedules, tour the hotel regularly for maintenance checks, and support employees to meet established standards and exceed guest expectations.
  • Handle and resolve customer complaints promptly and courteously, providing personalized assistance for inquiries about hotel services, events, directions, etc.
  • Coordinate guest arrivals, departures, and billing requirements, blocking rooms accordingly and addressing any discrepancies to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Take swift and effective action in any hotel emergency or safety situation, ensuring guest and employee well-being in the absence of senior managers.
  • Efficiently check guests in and out, assign appropriate rooms, manage keys, settle bills, and plan for upcoming arrivals and departures.
  • Utilize computer systems effectively, with well-versed experience in Opera PMS and Marriott-Empower (GXP), to handle guest registrations, run reports, manage guest requests, and monitor Front Drive operations.
