In this role, you will report to the Director of Residences and work closely with the Director of Residences.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in residences
  • Proven experience in a leadership role in finance or accounting

Responsibilities

  • Review transaction of the property to ascertain that they are correct and posted properly to general ledger.
  • Review cash balance to determine that property has enough funds to pay their liabilities and bank accounts would not be overdrawn. If necessary, prepare transfers to cover accounts.
  • Approve payables based on cash flow and determine if they are correctly coded to general ledger account.
  • Answer or find answers for financial questions from property manager or board members.
  • Review and approve check requests. Check requests for capital improvement projects should be reviewed to make sure there is not a duplicate payment and that the attached engineer report indicates proper year-to-date payments and application number.
  • Journal entries to allocate expenses related to Residential and monthly accruals Master Association allocations
  • Prepare tenant HOA fees
  • Support Residential team on fee collection
  • Work with external Auditors on compliance
  • Prepare monthly forecast updates
  • Prepare monthly cash flow for Sponsor
  • Prepare deficit funding files
  • Monitor and approve purchase orders and appropriate general ledger accounts
  • Monitor Owner house accounts and prepare monthly invoices
  • Monthly balance sheet account reconciliations including bank, payables, receivables, and accruals
  • Prepare monthly reports including Operating P&L Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow
