We are looking for an Assistant Director of Engineering at Sedona Summit, A Hilton Vacations Club. In this role, you will advise and control the Engineering operations within the resort, which includes the daily supervision of mechanical, structural, electrical, and other-related maintenance systems. You will work with the Resort Leadership Team to develop maintenance programs; engage team members; maintain an accurate budget; and find opportunities that better equip the organization to achieve its established annual business goals.

  • Assist the Director of Engineering in administering programs involving electrical, mechanical, general construction, and repair and maintenance of existing facilities and equipment.
  • Assign and verify completion of routine maintenance and operation of all mechanical, electrical, H.V.A.C systems and any other related equipment.
  • Visually inspect quality of work and directs staff and outside contractors in tasks according to performance and productivity standards.
  • Take on the responsibility of completing any special projects that were the responsibility of the Director.
  • Communicate effectively with city officials to ensure proper maintenance of permits and licenses.
  • Coordinate inspections of all elevators and escalators with the proper regulating agency.
  • Act as a liaison between hotel and vendors to review latest in hotel technology and products.
  • Attend conventions, seminars or classes to further education in current and future trends.
  • Assume the responsibilities of shop foreman and other supervisors in their absence.
  • Assist in the negotiation of contracts between hotel and outside contractors.
  • Assist Director of Engineering in the establishment and control of the annual budget.
  • A combination of five to ten years schooling and hands on work experience in buildings with complex systems.
  • High School/GED.
  • Any licenses or permits that may be required by law or company regulations.
  • 5-7 year's related experience.
  • 2+ year's supervisory experience.
  • Must be flexible to work variable shifts to include weekends and holidays.
  • Graduation from an apprenticeship and/or advanced training program for operating engineers recognized by the industry and trade.
  • Technical Diploma.
  • Skill or Trade License a plus.
  • 2+ year's managerial experience.
