About The Position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, invites applications for Assistant Director of Employer Engagement, UNLV Career and Life Design. The Assistant Director of Employer Engagement (AD) reports directly to the Director of Career Services and Workforce Development (Director) in the Career Services and Workforce Development (CSWD) unit in the Office of Academic Affairs, with a dotted line reporting to the Associate Director of Workforce Education (ADWE). The AD strategically and effectively develops, engages, and advances relationships with external employers and community partners to enhance career readiness, internship opportunities, and career employment outcomes of UNLV students and alumni. This position supports the Director of Career and Life Design, directly advancing unit mission and goals, and closely collaborates with and supports the ADWE, who outreaches and cultivates employing organizations seeking partnership with UNLV for talent acquisition and development campus-wide. This position plays a key leadership role for CSWD’s mission to implement a university-wide employer engagement strategy as part of a Top Tier 2.0 Workforce Development and “career everywhere” initiative. The AD will develop strategic engagement and ongoing relationship management strategies to engage employers in a variety of recruiting and early talent development activities, events, and services that enhance the career trajectories of UNLV students and alumni. The AD will oversee and elevate the usage of internship and job posting systems, and on-campus employer branding opportunities, networking events, and recruiting services. The AD will lead the design and implementation of modernized and engaging campus-wide career fairs and employer networking events as well as engage employers in relevant platforms and professional development programs. This leader will support the DWE and Director to conceptualize, promote, and develop employer sponsorships to elevate the resources of UNLV CSWD. The AD will consult with existing and prospective employers to design meaningful internship experiences, recruit and champion diverse and inclusive workplaces, and strengthen campus partnerships and employer engagement across campus. The AD works in concert with the entire CSWD team, workforce education, and the Director to manage signature campus-wide career fair and networking events, a central job posting and career management platform, on campus recruiting activity, and support in the promotion of career readiness, career employment and internship opportunities. All positions in Academic Affairs contribute to our core mission: to increase enrollment and promote equitable student success. This position shall collaborate with the Director of Career Services and Workforce Development to set annual goals that align with Top Tier initiatives and SVPAA mission and identify and track core metrics to assess success. Like all AA leaders, this position plays a crucial role in enrollment growth, removing barriers to student success, ensuring inclusive and equitable access to resources, working to eliminate achievement gaps, and providing outstanding services and support to students across the lifecycle. By addressing systemic obstacles and implementing strategic services, programs, and support, this position will meaningfully contribute to the institution's commitment to expand access, grow enrollment, and promote career-ready student success that leads to timely graduation. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education or business development role.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree.
  • 5-7 years progressively responsible experience in higher education career services, college recruiting, consulting, training and development, business development or relationship building and customer service role.
